Growing textiles is an ongoing research on alternatives for textiles. Looking at the way fabrics are produced nowadays and with awareness of the issues of the future, such as over population, food crisis, oil shortage etc, there is a need for change. I made a journey into the world of biotechnology. This technology is predicted to be the technology of the 21st century.
In this journey I learnt how to make my own tools for a lab and searched for fabric alternatives. The current outcomes are the first version of 'Mycelium non-wovens' and 'Kambucha lace'.
